Changing the adhesive in our PUR hot melt adhesive machine is also simple; it can be done in just a few easy steps.
1. When cleaning the hot melt adhesive machine, the pressure plate must be separated from the hot melt adhesive barrel. When removing the hot melt adhesive barrel, the pressure should be gradually increased from low to high. After the adhesive barrel is separated from the machine's heating plate, the passage between the pressure plate and the pump body must be closed to prevent the adhesive from curing.
2. After the hot melt glue machine is separated from the hot melt glue barrel, the hot melt glue remaining on the hot melt glue pressure plate must be cleaned immediately and thoroughly. When cleaning the hot melt glue plate of the hot melt glue machine, do not use any hard tools to clean it to prevent scratching the Teflon coating of the pressure plate.
3. After cleaning the hot melt adhesive machine's pressure plate, immediately press it into a new hot melt adhesive barrel to avoid exposing it to air for extended periods. When pressing the hot melt adhesive machine's pressure plate into the barrel, pay attention to the air pressure in the lifting cylinder. Apply a small amount of silicone oil to the platen's sealing ring for lubrication. This creates a lubricant between the platen and the barrel and protects the sealing ring. After the hot melt adhesive machine's pressure plate is pressed into the new polyurethane adhesive barrel, open the overflow valve to completely expel any remaining air from the barrel and remove any hot melt adhesive containing air bubbles. This prevents air-laden polyurethane hot melt adhesive from flowing into the pump and the hot melt machine's hose.
4. After placing the hot melt adhesive machine's pressure plate into the polyurethane hot melt adhesive barrel and removing all air, tighten the overflow valve. At this point, you can increase the air pressure in the stroke cylinder appropriately to ensure smoother operation.
5. After replacing the polyurethane hot melt adhesive, wait at least 20 minutes for the hot melt adhesive machine to heat up before starting the gear pump and motor. Starting the gear pump and motor immediately will damage the polyurethane gear pump and shorten the service life of the hot melt adhesive machine.
