Using hot melt glue
to seal paper boxes is a mature application in the industry, but sometimes the box will open when you pinch it after gluing it. What is going on?

First, make sure that the material used to make the box is the same as before, and whether the surface has been treated in some way, which causes the hot melt glue to not stick well.

This situation is mainly because the sealing part of the paper box is not friendly to hot melt adhesive. For example, before some paper boxes are sealed and glued with hot melt adhesive, their surfaces will be glazed, laminated, etc. for the sake of beauty and high-end, and such paper box materials will cause considerable difficulty in the bonding of hot melt adhesive. Because the performance of hot melt adhesives for the same application on the market is not very different, it is difficult to find a suitable hot melt adhesive for use again, and passive selection may increase production costs. Comprehensive consideration, if the sealing effect is really poor, it is recommended to adjust the surface treatment process of the paper box.

Secondly, whether the temperature has changed significantly from before, the external temperature will affect the curing speed of the hot melt adhesive. When the weather is cold, the curing speed will be shortened, and if the line speed cannot keep up, the adhesive will not be good. This problem can be solved in the following ways: first, increase the production line speed so that the glue can complete the box sealing operation with better adhesion performance; second, increase the operating temperature of the hot melt adhesive machine by 5 to 10 degrees Celsius to extend the cooling time; third, replace the hot melt adhesive and use a hot melt adhesive that does not dry so quickly in cold weather.
